About Crystal

Crystal Flaman, is a Social Entrepreneur in the truest sense. An acclaimed professional speaker, and professional triathlete, Crystal has spent years raising awareness for some of the world’s most worthy charities. The culmination of several dreams intersected and found purpose in her newest endeavor, Inspired To Give Now.com
 
The idea for Inspired To Give Now came about from a life-long passion for being part of something greater than herself. In an airport one day, she picked up a copy of John Wood’s book, “Leaving Microsoft to Change the World” and was greatly impacted about the story of John’s vision to educate the world’s underprivileged children. Crystal already shared the vision and was contributing part of her business’ income to fund a school in Nepal. Working in partnership in 2008 with John Wood’s organization, Room To Read was the logical next step.
 
Crystal says, “A lack of education is synonymous with poverty. Education is key to the ability to make good choices. If a person has an education, they will also have the power to lift themselves up.”
 
In 2007, she entered into an Ironman triathlon for the purpose of raising money for the Canadian Diabetes Association, and it was the most fulfilling competition of her life. True to her style, Crystal is tackling an even bigger challenge in 2008: the Ford Ironman World Championship 2008, held in Hawaii. Her goal is not small... raise $500,000 for Room To Read!
